Brian fills

Brian is a BAFTA-nominated TV writer who first met Karen and her family when they came to see his play, Fear of Fanny, about the late, great TV chef Fanny Cradock. In 2006, Fear of Fanny was turned into a TV play for BBC-4, with Nighty, Night star Julia Davis in the title role. Brian went on to write more plays for the BBC including The Curse of Steptoe, and in 2011 he created the Channel 4 series Sirens - about a group of mad EMTs driving their ambulance about the streets of Leeds. He's currently working on a feature film script and a period crime drama for BBC-1.

Alan French

Alan has worked as an actor, writer and director in television, film, and theatre since the mid nineties. Recent television appearances include Instinct, Emmerdale, Waterloo Road, Coronation Street, Hollyoaks, The 4 O’Clock Club,The Syndicate, and Death Comes To Pemberley – to be screened on BBC1 this Christmas.  Feature films include, The Cater Street Hangmanand Before Dawnwhich was screened at the Cannes film festival earlier this year and recently won the Bram Stoker award for ‘Best Screenplay’, and Soldiers Of The Damned - on general cinema release next year.

Alan played iconic TV chef, Fanny Cradock in a hugely successful tour of Fear of Fanny by Brian Fillis – his dear friend and co-presenter this for evening. Indeed it was during this tour that Alan met Karen Bostock (the vision and chutzpah behind tonight’s extravaganza) and her wonderful family. Alan’s last appearance as Fanny Cradock was right here in 2009 when he engaged in culinary warfare against a top TV chef in a rather bizarre, comic cookery demonstration (the prawns won). ‘For One Night Only 1’ was an extraordinary entertainment event, which thanks to you, raised a great deal of money for a wonderful charity ‘Hospice Care’.
Let’s dig deep tonight and make this one the best ever to help Karen hit her target and help all the charities Juliette has chosen.

“I was delighted and honoured to be asked along with Brian when Juliette asked us last year at my wedding to co-host for you this evening”.

“Karen may not have the fearsome demeanour, camp delivery or scary eyebrows of her grandmother Fanny, but she certainly has her energy, guts and determination when it comes to working tirelessly and compassionately for a these very good causes!  This seems to be with the next generation in Juliette as well”….

Anthony Lexa

Anthony Lexa is a trans-female singer and contemporary pop artist whose mission is to question what gender really stands for, how stereotypes and ideals can be reformed and how those struggling with sexuality and gender identity can be empowered.
Anthony’s soulful, intriguing pop draws its inspiration from classics like Stevie Wonder and Mariah Carey, as well as   modern stars like Ariana Grande and Demi Lovato. The messages and music of Janelle Monae, Dodie, Billie Eilis and Troye Sivan inspire Anthony’s work.

Anthony grew up dancing and has won numerous dancing competitions, including the national championship in 2011/12. This dancing prowess earned Ant an appearance on Children In Need, alongside Ed Sheeran and Rizzle Kicks, among others, which encouraged him to pursue his own musical  ambitions. Around that time, a family death and increasing anxiety issues inspired her to write music as a form of therapy. Music and her love of make-up artistry enabled her to discover her true  self-expression.
